Teddy Erlichman’s Bar Mitzvah Project
Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for visiting my Bar Mitzvah project website. This project is dedicated to the memory of my younger brother Trevor.
My brother Trevor was born on November 1, 2018. When he was born, my family found out that he had a condition called VACTERL. Each letter stands for a different part of the body that can be affected. Trevor was fortunate to only be affected in a few of the areas.
While he looked and acted like a normal baby, the most serious of the conditions affected his bowels (A). They had not attached correctly and needed to be “pulled through” to create a normal pathway. Despite the success of the surgery, Trevor suffered a complication 6 months later that resulted in him dying. He was 14 months old.
It is important to my family and I that we always keep the memory of Trevor alive. After his death, my parents established an educational scholarship in his name.
The Trevor Erlichman Scholarship Fund is run by a very important organization called The Pull Thru Network (PTN). PTN works hard to raise awareness and provide support to individuals and their families who are faced with colorectal disorders.
One of the ways I am honoring my brother is by creating and distributing baskets filled with supplies to the NICUs at NYU Langone and Hackensack University Medical Center.
Instead of giving a gift to me, I want to encourage everybody to donate to the Trevor Erlichman Scholarship fund. This fund recognizes students living with congenital anorectal, colorectal, and/or urogenital malformations as they pursue their higher education goals.
Our family would be honored if you choose to make a donation in memory of my brother. Please add “In honor of Teddy Erlichman” when submitting. Donate Now
Thank You,
Teddy
